Elim Water Mill
Elim was founded as a Moravian mission station in 1824, and became the home of many freed slaves in the next decade. The village is home to the most skilled roof thatchers, and also boasts:
• The biggest Moravian church in the Cape
• The oldest working clock in SA, built in 1757
• The biggest wooden water-mill wheel
• The only monument to the freeing of the slaves
• 102 rare fynbos species in Geelkop Reserve
• Guest House that sleeps 10 people (sharing)
